Comparing Combi, Regular, and System Boilers From Ideal Boilers

Posted on: July 6th, 2022 by Active

We here at Mirage Heating & Plumbing offer all models from the wide variety offered by Ideal Boilers. With 100 years of innovation Ideal boilers are highly efficient and the many designs found in their range means there will be something to suit you and your household needs. Ideal Boilers provide regular, combi and system boilers, but what exactly does that mean? In our blog below we will discuss the main differences between the three boiler types to help cut through any confusion.

Regular

The regular boiler is the most conventional form of boiler available and just produces heat for your homeā€”no hot water. Due to the requirement for a cold water cylinder and cold water cisterns, these systems demand a substantial amount of installation space. A typical boiler heats the water tank’s cold water using a hot water storage cylinder. Each room in your home is heated by hot water that is circulated throughout the radiator pipes.

Combi

A combination boiler, sometimes known as a combi boiler, draws hot water and heat from the mains to provide your home with hot water as needed. The combi series from Ideal Boilers is very economical and effective because it doesn’t need an extra hot water tank. As a result, energy is easier to manage and the boiler requires less space in your home.

System

A system boiler operates similarly to a standard boiler system, but since it is not attached to the mains, it is not a combination boiler. With the help of a separate cylinder or water tank, system boilers may heat your home’s central heating system and provide a steady supply of hot water for everyone in the house. With this system, you may run hot water simultaneously from the mains in various parts of your house without disturbing other areas.
